Commissioned by the Seattle Opera in honor of the retirement of Speight Jenkins, Intendent. First performed by four Wagnertüben acquired in honor of Speight Jenkins for use by the Seattle Opera in performances of Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle. Members of the Seattle Symphony Orchestra performed onstage at McCaw Hall, in Seattle, Washington, on 8 August 2014 at the gala final concert of the company's Wagner Competition. The piece may be performed on four tubas, or by four trombones, or by several trombones and tubas.
