Soprano Suzanne Duplantis

Two settings of Edgar Allen Poe("A Dream Within a Dream" and "Thou Wouldst Be Loved") drawn from the early cycle Echo's Songs are featured by mezzo-soprano Suzanne DuPlantis, acoompanied by John Andrew Bailey, on a noontime recital that also features songs by Kile Smith, Bach, Sibelius, and Weill. The selection of songs is particularly interesting as they were the first two art songs that Hagen composed, in his teens, in Wisconsin, before moving to the east coast.
