Program Note:

Lilly is a little mouse created by Wisconsin children’s book author and illustrator Kevin Henkes who loves her purple plastic purse so much that she simply cannot contain herself in class. After receiving an admonishment from her favorite teacher, she agrees to wait until show-and-tell to share her prize. This charming, purely instrumental suite, which consists of music inspired by Kevin's book Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse, was composed in summer 2017 for a special "Coffee and Kids" concert at the Wintergreen Music Festival performed by faculty members of the festival on August 6th, 2017.
