Koto virtuoso Yoko Reikano Kimura performs the koto concerto Genji with string quartet in the the exquisite Gallery 306 (Buddha of Medicine Bhaishajyaguru (Yaoshi fo)) of the Metropolitan Museum of Art under the auspices of the Friends of Musical Instruments: The Amati. An expert will relate aspects of the great Tale of Genji —from which inspiration for the concerto came—prior to the performance.
