Chamber Music on the Fox presents a free, live chamber music performance of Daron Hagen's new score to Charlie Chaplin's film, The Tramp, as part of this year's Elgin Short Film Festival.
Elgin, IL--In collaboration with the Elgin Short Film Festival, Chamber Music on the Fox presents a screening of Charlie Chaplin's The Tramp along with a live chamber music performance to accompany the silent movie. With a new score written for the centennial of this classic film from the silent era, the performance will combine an old film (from 1915) with a new piece of music composed by Hagen in 2015. The performance will take place as part of the Film Festival events on Saturday, September 23rd, and will feature a 7-piece ensemble including internationally-acclaimed pianist Yana Reznick.
"We are thrilled about being part of such a culturally rich festival, and are delighted to be bringing live music to a program that has traditionally been only film," noted Chamber Music on the Fox Co-Artistic Director Sara Sitzer.
The performance will take place in The Hemmens Cultural Center at 5:30 PM, shortly before the Elgin Short Film Festival's red carpet reception. Admission to The Tramp is included with the purchase of a $7 ticket to the Film Festival. To purchase tickets to the festival, visit the Hemmens box office, call 847-931-5900, or go online to www.hemmens.org.
