The one act opera The George Washington Suite was commissioned and premiered by Opera Theater of Pittsburgh in 2012 as part of their "Night Caps" project. In it, two young historians whose aim is to sleep "everywhere that the Father of Our Country slept" have an unexpected meeting with our nation's first president. Subtitled "a Patriotic Ghost Story in One Scene," the libretto is by Rob Handel.
