Brooklyn Art Song Society is proud to announce Daron Hagen as the 2014-2015 In Context featured composer. Mr. Hagen, who has been praised as a "highly gripping and original" composer (Opera Now), curates a program of his own works alongside favorite songs by Benjamin Britten, Franz Schubert, Kurt Weill, and Hugo Wolf. These works will be performed by some of New York City's finest young interpreters of art song, soprano Justine Aronson, mezzo soprano Kate Maroney, tenor Joseph Gaines (BASS debut) and baritone Jorell Williams (BASS debut).
